FISHKILL – On Feb. 16, 2018, the State Police from Cortlandt and Wappinger executed a search warrant at a Max Way residence in the village of Fishkill following a grand larceny investigation regarding 44-year-old Kim Amato.
According to officials, it is alleged that during the execution of the search warrant, three illegal assault rifles with large capacity magazines, one taser, brass knuckles, and a baton were located.
Scott H. Strack, age 48 of Poughkeepsie, claimed ownership of items, added officials.
Strack was charged with three counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 3rd degree, all class D felonies, three counts each of Criminal Possession of a weapon in the 4th degree, and Possession of Large Capacity Ammunition Feed Device, all class A misdemeanors.

Investigators from the Cortlandt barracks also arrested Kim Amato, age 44, of Poughkeepsie for Grand Larceny in the 4th degree, a class E felony.
Strack was arraigned before the town of Wappinger Court and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $7,500 cash bail or $15,000 bond.
Amato was issued an appearance ticket returnable to the town of Cortlandt Court at a later date.
